The work
A true hideaway, by reservation only.
A quiet site that begins inside the lantern-lit room. The omakase course and the occasional “Sushi Sakuma” are introduced separately. Two ways to book — online (Ikyu.com) and by phone — a map, and an English version. It says little, and lets its aesthetic choose its guests.

Design notes
What we decided for this shop.
- Color & Type
- Indigo-tinged night black and gold sand. Zen Old Mincho for Japanese, Cormorant Garamond for Latin. The restaurant says little, so the type does too.
- Motion
- It opens inside the lantern-lit room, with the headline set vertically. Motion is minimal; the stillness itself shows the restaurant’s standing.
- Delivery
- Reservation only, so the bottom bar holds just two things: Call and Book online. An English version takes guests from abroad straight to booking.
